Precision Engineering Meets Florida Landscapes.

Based in Lake County, Steep Cut Solutions was born out of a simple observation: some of the most beautiful properties in Central Florida are the hardest to maintain. Traditional mowing equipment has its limits—limits that often lead to safety risks or neglected, overgrown embankments.

Leveraging years of experience in high-tech business operations through our sister company, DAB Vending, we decided to bring that same level of innovation to land management. We’ve traded "business as usual" for specialized, remote-controlled technology designed specifically for the steep inclines and pond banks that standard crews can’t safely reach.

What can I expect?

⓵ Virtual or On-Site Evaluation

The process starts with a simple conversation. You provide us with the location and a brief description of the terrain. We use high-resolution satellite imagery to perform an initial "virtual survey" of the slopes and pond banks. If the job is complex, we’ll visit the site in person to identify any hidden obstacles like stumps, large rocks, or soft "sink" areas to ensure our robotic equipment is the right fit for the task.

⓶ Transparent Quote & Logistics

Once we’ve assessed the grade and vegetation density, we provide a clear, flat-rate quote. We don’t believe in "hidden fees" for steep inclines. We’ll walk you through our plan of attack, including where our operators will stand for maximum visibility and how we intend to mulch the clippings to leave the soil healthy and stable. Additionally, we will cover all areas where potential soil disruption may occur.

⓷ Remote Controlled Mowing and Cleanup

On the scheduled day, we deploy our remote-controlled mowers. You’ll see our team safely managing the equipment from level ground while the mower tackles the inclines. Our flail-cutting system mulches as it goes, so there are no massive piles of debris left behind. Once the "unmowable" is mowed, we do a final walk-through with you to ensure every bank and path meets our high standards.

Frequently Asked Question

How steep of a slope can your robotic mower handle?

Our specialized RC flail mowers are designed to maintain traction and stability on inclines up to 50 degrees. Most traditional riding mowers or zero-turns are restricted to slopes under 15–20 degrees to avoid rollover risks. Our tech allows us to mow the "unmowable" safely.

Will the tracks damage my turf or the pond bank?

Actually, it’s the opposite. Because our mowers use wide tracks rather than tires, the machine's weight is distributed over a much larger surface area. This "low ground pressure" prevents the deep ruts and soil compaction typically caused by heavy tractors, making it ideal for the soft, damp soil found around Florida retention ponds. Some soil movement is possible however is typically indistiguishable from the area.

What is the difference between a flail mower and a standard mower?

A standard mower uses a single spinning blade. A flail mower uses dozens of small, T-shaped blades attached to a horizontal drum. This setup is far superior for slopes because it mulches the grass and light brush into fine clippings, preventing the "clumping" that can kill healthy grass or wash into the water.

Do you offer full land clearing?

We specialize in precision maintenance and reclamation. Our equipment is perfect for thick weeds, tall grass, and light woody stalks (up to about 1 inch in diameter). We do not provide heavy-duty land clearing involving large trees, stumps, or heavy timber.

Is robotic mowing more expensive than a traditional crew?

While the technology is advanced, it is often more cost-effective. A job that takes a manual string-trimming crew of four people several hours to complete can often be finished by one of our robotic units in a fraction of the time, providing a cleaner look and significantly reducing the liability of having workers on a dangerous incline. Additionally, areas that would require larger and more expensive manual equipment are now managed by our Remote Controlled Mowers and equipment.

How do you determine the price for a job?

We provide transparent pricing based on the specific needs of your terrain. Typically, we quote based on an hourly rate (ranging from $175 to $300) or a per-acre rate (ranging from $150 to $500). Factors that influence the final price include the steepness of the grade, the density of the overgrowth, and the total acreage. We also include a standard mobilization fee to cover equipment transport to your site. Our prices are better than the industry and are highly competitive to multi-person crews.
